Tied Record - NOT!

So, Feliks and Steve tied the WR. But actually, they didn't. You see, Stackmats display 3 digits after the first one, or the 4. So after watching the videos, I saw that Steve beat Feliks by 00.003. So, Steve actually won, and respectively holds the record just by a time of 00.003 off Feliks' record. No one could even start a timer and stop it that fast!

A Simple Tutorial

This tutorial is very simple.  All you need is 5 pyraminxs and a door. Simply place the pyraminxs in a row at the door frame, and that will keep people from coming in your room.

How to use the Tensioning Tools That Come with the GuoGuan Yuexiao Pro

Image
First off, these tools are only to get even tensions, but can help with the tensioning, as once the caps are taken off, the centers go inward, because the springs are shorter than normal. I tried an AoLong V2 spring swap, because there was a lot of spring noise, but that did not work because the AoLong springs are too long. That said, lets move on. First, disassemble your cube and take off the caps. Next, insert the tools as shown in the picture below: Then, use the screwdriver that comes with the cube to tighten until the screwdriver won't go. Make sure you use the left and right centers like in the picture, because these are the sides perpendicular to the tools, so the tensions will  only become even if you use those sides. You can also loosen the cube, because the tools help improve recognition in even tensions. These tools should work on any cube with the same center design as the Yuexiao Pro, and may work on other cubes. Repeat this step for all the other centers, a

1 Year of JARCG!!!

Yay! Today it's been one year since I started this blog. Aside from that, it's the day I came up with SuperCube199. I had other names, such as Cubeaholic, JBCuber, and Cubing 101, but all those were taken, except JBCuber. Tomorrow, I'll be making a tutorial on how to use the tensioning tools that come with the Yuexiao Pro.

Shengshou Petaminx!?

I have been waiting. You have been waiting. Wait no longer. It has come the Shengshou Petaminx...            OH MY GOSH!!!!! AHHHHH! That was way too dramatic. Sorry. But yeah. This will look really good in between, or at the end of all your higher order minx puzzles. It also is probably higher quality then the MF8 one. And bonus, they're both the same price. If we could get a flat faced 17x17, that would be awesome. I also am pretty sure Yuxin is making a 19x19, so that'll be cool.

MF8 Examinx | The Hype is Real

I recently discovered that MF8 was releasing an Examinx. I was excited. As far as I know, an Examinx is equivalent to an 11x11. After that, I think it's Zetaminx, and of course Yottaminx. I have no idea when it will be released, but I don't know much about it. Anyway, that's all for today. Bye!

Flagship Rivalries S1 Tournament 1: Valk 3 vs. Aolong V2

Basic facts: The Aolong was released in 2014, while the Valk was released in 2016. Turning: The Aolong has a crispy, smooth and slow feel, while the Valk is more fast and crunchy. Although, this does come down to personal preference. Corner Cutting: They both cut about the same, although, the Valk 3 does do a bit better. Pops \ Lockups \ Corner Twists: The Aolong does not pop at all, although I have had major lockups and a corner twisting problem. The Valk, on the other hand has minor lockups when used roughly, and because of the squared of corners, it has no corner twists. As for popping, I don't really know, but it probably is not a problem. Overall, I have to give this one to the Valk 3, which means it will be going to the next tournament, where I will be comparing it to the Yuexiao Pro.

Is Feliks Zemdegs Overrated?

Today I'll be talking about the fact is Feliks overrated? He is really fast, but he doesn't hold many records anymore. He was fast in 2011ish, but that was when he got one of his first WRs, his legendary 5.66. He doesn't even hold the world record for 3x3 anymore, unless you count when he tied with Steve Cho a couple months back. I give the credit to Steve, because he did it first, and he also probably had no records at the time. I'm not boycotting him, he is still really fast, but most of the solves he gets are 5s and 6s. He has set over 100 records though, some still standing, some broken, so I will give him that. His only records that haven't been broken are: 3x3 Average 4x4 Single 5x5 Single 5x5 Average OH Single That is only 5 that remain unbroken. I will admit though, that's pretty good. Also, while on the records page of the WCA website, I found out that the Square 1 single was broken this year. Who knew.

I Made a Custom Shirt!

Hey guys! Today I'll be talking about the SuperCube199 shirt I made. It has SuperCube199 written on it, and a Skewb behind it. I made it using Microsoft Word for the logo, and ironed it on with iron on paper. It looks really clean, and I'll probably use the logo for my yt channel, and also for custom cube logos, and someday maybe merch. I plan to wear the shirt to a comp this summer, and any other ones I go to.

Why We Dislike 1x1s

Lets get to business. 1x1s aren't that bad in general, but no one likes to solve them. I did an average of 12 on on one, and almost all of the solves were sub 00.10. I think they're great to have in your collection, but all you have to do to solve them is start the timer, touch the cube and stop the timer. Also, there are only a few variations of 1x1s because a 1x1 Skewb would be the same as a normal 1x1. Also, trivial puzzles are so easy, which explains why no one likes the tips of a pyraminx.

Cubing Quotes: From Whenever to 3415

UberCuber: Oh I know 2. Cyotheking: Alright, take 2, because last time, I wasn't recording my audio, so I had no audio for my video. Isn't that cute. TheProgramingCuber: We're going to compare Derpy's insanely  overlubed megaminx to mine, which is super loose and cool. Derpy Cuber: Make your intro thing say Hashtag but with my voice going over it like doodaloodadooloodoodaloo. JRCuber: And it's gonna be fun. Insane Cuber: Yeah we're gonna learn bruno, and possibly the T, we're gonna learn bruno, 2x2 CLL, 2x2, 2x2, it's gonna be amazing, look at my face.

15x15: The Details

The 15x15 Rubik's Cube Moyu announced in 2014 has been postponed for long enough. I think that it will come out approximately this summer. This afternoon, I saw that Jump Cuber from Moyu had uploaded a video on a stickered fully functional 15x15, which tells me that they have built the final version, and I think they are raising money to manufacture them as soon as possible. I'm really excited to see how big cubes will get in the next few years, whether they're mass produced or not.

You're Sub 20?! 3 Tips and Tricks to Improve

1. Lear other F2L tricks. F2L is probably the longest part of your solve, so keep practicing. The source I use for F2L is Brody The Cuber. Check him out on YouTube! 2. Practice! It's simple. 3. Become color neutral. You could at least learn white and yellow, so you'll have two faces to do cross on.

New Series: Flagship Rivalries

Hey! Today I'm going to introduce a new series, inspired by the video Cubing Encoded made on if 2014 3x3s are comparable to 2018 flagships. I will be comparing different 3x3s from long ago to today every other Wednesday. I will not do it today though. For example: Zanchi vs. Valk 3. The one that has more good qualities will compete against another one I have done in the same month, and the winner of that will be the overall champion of the month or month and a half.

Topic: YJ Puzzles

I want to expand my collection in all ways. I have a list of cubes I want to get, but don't always have the money. But I could complete series'. The cheapest puzzles I can get to complete one series are: YJ 3x3s. If we're talking about YJ 3x3s, you probably know that most are under $5. These include: Guanlong Guanlong Plus (which are cubes I have) and then the Chilong Yulong Sulong but not the: Lingan Ball Cube Diamond Cube Spade Cube Love Cube Bye!

Posting Daily???

Hey Guys! Today I want to cover something I've been doing the past few days. It occurred to me that I needed to update my blog. Badly. So, since Saturday, I've been posting daily. I am doing this because I enjoy writing and want to have a successful blog, even if not many people will see it. I plan to keep posting daily until I got a roadblock. However, I will after that keep posting daily. The only reason I wouldn't post is if I forgot entirely or the day I leave/get back from vacation this summer. I will post again today since I have come up with idea.

Guanlong Plus Review

The original Guanlong was a decent cube at a decent price. However, now that the new version has been released, how many improvements has this cube made over the old one, and is it right for you? To start off, the turning of this cube is fast and slightly crunchy. It has sub parr corner cutting because much force is needed for just 45°. It has squared off corners, which do prevent corner twisting but minor catches still occur. After lubing with Traxxas 50K, and breaking it in over about 20 solves this cube is pretty good. I now have a new PB of 16.95 seconds and I can get pretty much my normal times on this cube. Honestly, I could not really use this cube as my main though, because the catches get on my nerves, and it just is not up to standards with today's cubes. This cube would be good for beginners, or people who want a cheap and well performing cube.

I'm Back! | 5 Tips to Become Sub 20

Honestly, the only reason I'm making this post is because I'm now sub 20. (insert intro here) 1. Build your cross wherever you want. I would recommend not building it on top though, because you would have to do 2 cube rotations. 2. Learn intuitive F2L. This will drop your times quite a bit because there are many ways to build and insert pairs. 3. I don't think this should be said, but LEARN CFOP!! It is pretty much mandatory. 4. Improve your look ahead this came be done by turning slower for a significant amount of time, and\or building your cross on the bottom. 5. Practice! Learn all of these things and practice them in timed solves.
